Buy network marketing leads…Like the Other Suckers!
If you want to go broke and become frustrated in the quickest way
possible in network marketing, all you have to do is buy network
marketing leads from a broker. Simple. Thanks for
stopping by.
Here’s why it sucks chainsaws to buy network marketing leads: They are
not targeted and are not unique to you, they’re total cash sucking hoovers, and they are a completely unnecessary challenge.
Not Targeted
These leads aren’t very targeted. They can be ‘sorta
targeted’, but fairly generic. You won’t get the laser beam
focus that builds serious businesses. Guess what?
You aren’t the only one buying these leads either. Who knows
how many other marketers have already spoken to them about another
offer. The type of leads you will buy from brokers are mostly
just tire kickers. Window shoppers. They like the idea of
financial freedom and working from home, but will never do the work
necessary to acheive it.
Too Expensive
This brings us to point two, wasting your money. Let’s say
you spend $1000.00 on leads in a month. How many of those
leads will you have to close into your business in order to break
even? What if you don’t close any of these totally
disinterested, lazy strangers? You’re completely out
$1000.00. That seems like heaps of unnecessary pressure to
me. A thick, stinky air of desparation will arise on every call. If
you’re going to buy network marketing leads, you’re destined to be
broke…unless you’re a pitbull of a sales person. Are you a
pitbull? Do you LOVE sales, and especially ‘closing’?
Emotional Butt-Kicking
One of the biggest drawbacks of this archaic method in my opinion is
the emotional drain. It’s all too easy to attach our
self-worth to our success in even the most mundane of tasks, let alone
one which we mispercieve as pivotal to our business success. How many
hundreds, or even thousands of people have to say no to you and what
you have before those nasty feelings start to creep in: ‘I suck’, ‘I’m
too stupid to do this’, ‘my friends were right, this is impossible’,
‘This is too hard’, etc, etc. In my opinion you are basically setting
yourself up for a world of hurt and suffering if you choose to buy
network marketing leads rather than learning the skill of generating
your own.
In closing, if you are going to buy network marketing leads, you are
competing with 97% of the industry and you’re using broken, outdated
tools. You’re safety is at risk. Your leads will have no
interest in you and will be on total defense with all their guards and
blocks in full force. Sound tiring? Wait till you
actually live it. It’s borderline debilitating. The top earners, the
top 3% are not buying and cold calling leads, their leads are paying
them to become their leads. Once again: Their leads are
paying them to become their leads. That’s a topic for another
time.
Do you choose to suffer or prosper in 2010?

Those leads are realllly expensive. My husband ran through a few thousand dollars worth before I could finally convince him that they were not worth paying for. THe business itself was very well run, but this masked the fact that the leads were basically worthless.

To true! Worthless is a good way to describe them.
As soon as I understood who my target market is, where they’d be, and what they want, lead sources magically appeared! Some are even free….=D

I’ve seen people who have build substantial businesses using bought leads, however, it’s not a good idea for the average network marketer. Unless you are comfortable cold calling and can close with the best of them, it’s not worth the time or money.
While I’m pretty good at sales, I’m not comfortable with having to convince people to do something. I’d much rather them come to me already convinced. Which is why attraction marketing is such a wonderful way to build a business.
Great stuff Garfield

I agree 100%. There are some people who are Bulldogs when it comes to sales and love the cold call…not true with MOST people (in my experience).
Attraction marketing is the only way.
